The Chico Rancheria Housing Corporation (a non-profit tribal corporation) is the Tribally Designated Housing Entity (TDHE) of the Mechoopda Indian Tribe of Chico Rancheria. The Chico Rancheria Housing Corporation offers a variety of housing assistance programs to low-income Indian Families in the Indian Area of the Mechoopda Indian Tribe which include: Down Payment Assistance, Housing Rehabilitation and Renovation Assistance, Tenant and Student Based Rental Assistance, and a Lease to Own Homeownership Program. The Chico Rancheria Housing Corporation currently manages thirty (30) lease-to-own housing units owned by the Tribe and located in the city limits of Chico. The Corporation receives primary funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development under the Native American Housing Assistance and Self Determination Act of 1996 (NAHASDA) (25 U.S.C. 4101 et seq.).
