The Mechoopda Environmental Protection Agency is funded under the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The MEPA was developed to expand Tribal Governmental control over tribal lands in the areas of environmental planning and protection. The MEPA has been charged with developing environmental ordinances, land management plans, and procedures for enforcement of environmental ordinances.
