The Mechoopda Indian Tribe owns and operates the Tribal Cemetery which is located on lands within the original Rancheria in Chico. The Tribal Cemetery is the only remaining land reminiscent of the unique history and rich traditions of the Mechoopda Tribe. The cemetery is used by tribal members for burials, which are performed in a traditional or non-traditional manner, as requested by the family.
